Disney has gone from strength to strength, even with the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. They led the way in presenting movies that were cancelled in cinemas direct to their streaming platform, Disney+. Now, in an industry that is seeing more shake-ups and shockwaves in regards to home entertainment, the Walt Disney Investor Day took place on December 10th. It was fronted by Bob Chapek, Disney’s chief executive, to appeal to both stockholders and fans about what projects are on the horizon and how solid the company is performing.
It mostly looked at all streaming platforms include Disney Plus, Hulu and ESPN Plus. There were talks about new acquisitions and new international platforms offering even more content such as films, sports, documentaries and drama to the 86m+ subscribers in the coming years.
But what everyone wanted to know about were the projects in development. And I'll whisk you through what is coming in a quick re-cap of the presentation that lasted just under 4 hours.
