The beloved British-Australian award winning actor and singer, Olivia Newton-John has sadly died aged 73 after a 30 year battle with cancer. Known worldwide thanks to a 5 decade music career and catchy pop songs, she will be forever known as sweet Sandy Olsson in the 1978 smash hit Grease starring opposite John Travolta.
Her musical career spanned 5 decades of toe-tapping pop songs, heartfelt ballads and movie soundtracks. Some of her hits include 1973s "Let Me Be There", 1981s "Physical" and "Xanadu" from the film itself.
Yet it will be her memorable turn as high-school sweetheart Sandy Olsson in Grease for which she gained worldwide recognition and fame, appealing to all generations and lover of great musicals everywhere. She belted out hits such as "Summer Nights" and "You're the One That I Want" alongside co-star and lifelong best friend John Travolta. Newton-John also warmed hearts with her solo rendition of "Hopelessly Devoted to You".
A strong supporter of wildlife conservation and the study and support for Breast Cancer awareness, Newton-John was never without a word of positivity, a beaming smile and a great passion for her work, her family, friends and fans, and her legacy in the industry will remain.
