Just like that, out of nowhere, 007 via their social media pages drop a VERY teasing teaser trailer for a brand new James Bond video game. It is currently in development by IO Interactive, known for their ground-breaking 'Hitman' series. The 007 Twitter feed announced:
"Project 007 (working title) is a brand new James Bond video game with a wholly original story. Earn your 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story."
With many recent James Bond games providing basic entertainment in the shoot 'em up genre, the 007 pedestal fell drastically with the critically and gamer panned 007 Legends from 2012.
'Legends' was a lazy game rushed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the film franchise, but game us nothing bar reworked stories from the films, repetitive gameplay and less than immersive action.
Safe to say nearly a decade on and with the continued buzz surrounding 'No Time To Die' due in 2021, the world is ready for a new James Bond video game to hit current and next-gen consoles. Let's hope IO Interactive are up to the task!
