News: 'The Batman' teaser

Matt Reeves and Warner Bros. have shared a teaser trailer for their new vision of the Batman film series, with Robert Pattinson officially seen as our anti-hero Bruce Wayne / Batman.

While not an origin story for the Dark Knight, this is still early on in his career as a masked vigilante battling the crime-ridden streets of Gotham City.

However, we do know we will see some of the Rogues Gallery of villains in their establishing moments. Characters include Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot, better known to millions as The Penguin, Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle a.k.a Catwoman and Paul Dano as Edward Nashton who will be The Riddler.

Along with these familiar faces, we will also see Jeffrey Wright as GCPD Commissioner James Gordon and Andy Serkis as Wayne butler Alfred Pennyworth.

With Batman one of the most prolific and bankable superheroes in the DC roster, and following on from the success of standalone hit 'The Joker', there is a lot riding on yet another interpretation of the Caped Crusader, so soon after news that Ben Affleck will be back as Batman in a DCEU-timeline movie for The Flash due 2022.

'The Batman' is due for release on 0ctober 1st 2021.
