Pinned for a November 4, 2022 release, the twelfth instalment in the DC Extended Universe has begun production. 'The Flash' will tell a solo story for the speedster Barry Allen, portrayed once again by Ezra Miller.
Andy Muschietti has shared the logo for the film which certainly captures the iconic red and gold look of Flash himself.
While some of the cast has been announced such as Sasha Calle as Supergirl, and Kiersey Clemons as love interest Iris West, the story is currently under wraps. It is expected however that the film will follow the 2011 graphic novel Flashpoint by Geoff Johns that features alternate timelines within the DC universe that Flash is thrust into.
It also makes perfect sense to go hand-in-hand with the earlier rumours that both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton will be back as their own cinematic incarnations of Batman. It will be the first time Keaton has donned the cowl since 1992's Batman Returns and Affleck back as the current DCEU incarnation.
Robert Pattinsons 2022 movie The Batman will not cross-over.
Either way, it promises to be another exciting development for the DCEU coming off the back of Zack Snyder's Justice League as a solid development for The Flash to work from and gain his own movie.
